“REEL Life”

Our spring production of “REEL Life” was a blast!!!  We had three fantastic, fun, fabulous performances.  You could see the joy on the faces of the actors, acting buddies and audience members.  Wearing the costumes from the 1940′s was especially special for our actors.  The men looked dashing and the women looked like Hollywood stars. They all danced and sang just like on the Broadway stage.   We’re already thinking about a theme for next year’s play.  So keep checking the site for upcoming news.

We are hard at work on our upcoming production of “REEL Life”…..a show not to be missed.    Performances are at KANKAKEE HIGH SCHOOL on Jeffery Street in Kankakee, Ill., not Kankakee Junior High School on Crestwood in Kankakee.  Performances are Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are $5.00 for general seating and will be sold at the door.  The auditorium will open 1/2 hour before showtime.

“REEL Life” is a story set in the 1940′s about a troupe of washed-up movie actors who work together with a troupe of young “whipper snappers”  to revive their fading careers.  So, of course, they go to Hollywood, find the best producer, director and writers and make one more movie in hopes of winning the coveted “Oscar”. 

Come and see if our actors can sing and dance their way to the Academy Awards.

We are building a great cast with our actors and buddies for our upcoming production of “REEL Life”. We’ll see lots of new actors and buddies on stage. The family just keeps getting bigger. We are all looking forward to Tuesday, Feb. 7th when we all get together for our first rehearsal.

We are rounding up the actors and acting buddies for our Spring show “REEL Life”. The play is about a theater troupe putting on a Hollywood musical in the 1940′s…. as with all the glamour of the mid 1900′s. Want to get involved? Rehearsals for the student production of “Fairy Tale Courtroom” will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20th at MBVM.  Please send an email to easystreettheater@yahoo.com if you did not get a letter in the mail but would like to be a part of this great activity.  Actors must be age 9-22 and be a student in school.  Buddies must be at least in grade 8 up  through college.
